Cryotherapy

Prior to 2016, the only full-body cryotherapy pics in your Instagram feed were posted by pro athletes. The extreme recovery tactic has since gone mainstream and become accessible to every gym rat with a pair of fleece gloves. Unless it’s your job to workout, or you’re training for an ultramarathon, you probably don’t need to spend any time in a -150 degree Celsius metal tank.

Instead: Take an ice bath. Or pick up a reusable cold pack from CVS. Cryo diehards have their own theories, but most experts agree that the main benefit to enduring icy temps is pain reduction. You can take the edge off an injury by chilling in your tub, and you’ll save yourself around a hundred bucks a pop.
