Rucking doesn’t sound too hard — it’s just walking with a rucksack, after all — but don’t let the fact that you’re “just walking” fool you. GORUCK Challenges are fashioned after military training that requires you to work with a team as you complete physical challenges and traverse at least seven miles. The Tough challenge taking place in Washington, DC, is specifically a July 4th celebration, where after receiving a history on Independence from a military veteran, you’ll set off to complete a 15- to 20-mile ruck. You’ll carry logs, do push-ups, army-crawl across fields, and yes, walk (or jog) to complete the course, all while wearing a heavy, weighted pack.
