Portland Regional Tree Climbing Competition

Yes, tree climbing is a competitive sport. So much so that if you want an invitation to the annual International Tree Climbing Championship hosted by the International Society of Arboriculture, then you have to qualify at a local or regional event, like the Portland Regional Tree Climbing Competition. The good news is, beginners are welcome to test their skills and learn the ropes, so to speak, while participating in five separate events — aerial rescue, belayed speed climb, secured footlock, throw line, and work climb. Don’t know what any of that means? Maybe you should sign up and give it a try.

When: June 17, 2017

Where: Portland, OR
