David K. Randall, Dreamland: Adventures in the Strange Science of Sleep
David Randall was inspired to start work on his 2012 book after noting irregularities in his own sleeping habits. (He was later diagnosed with "non-REM arousal parasomnia," according to a report on NPR.) Here, he examines the way that sleep is studied, and the way that personal sleeping habits evolve as we age. And Huffington approvingly noted Randall's observations about napping — specifically, that taking naps can help the human brain work at an improved level.
