Training the Right Muscles

Copeland’s expeditions usually involve dragging massive amounts of gear in places like the Arctic. Which is why before an Arctic expedition Copeland will add a workout where he attaches a large truck tire to a harness and drag it around dirt trails for an hour, to mimic pulling a heavy sled. He says the same rules apply if you love mountain biking or canoeing: try to do workouts that target those muscles.
