Don't think of these as the bad crunches you see people do at the end of a workout, where they're mostly just straining their necks and calling it progress. Yes, you're still going to lie flat on your back, knees at a 45-degree angle. You're still going to contract your abs and curl your spine up. But for these, butterfly your knees open so you don't use your hip flexors excessively, and reach your hands between your knees to your feet.
