You be wolves. This is the invitation from Canada’s Ultra-Trail Harricana to all runners entering the 78-mile race in the Charlevoix massif, two hours’ drive north of Quebec City. In 2015, the organizers, Sébastien Côté and Geneviève Boivin, gave permission for a temporary studio to be set up near the finish line: Racers could take one photo a few hours before the start, which takes place in the middle of the night, and one photo just after crossing the finish line. A simple idea to get a really good look at the emotions of trail running after some 20 hours of effort. Between these two moments of truth is a struggle, a journey, sometimes to the edges of oneself.
