Reebok’s bold new ZigTech offers more than just second looks.

Reebok’s new (and rather, uh…subtle) ZigTech running shoe works like a Slinky — retaining and returning energy through itself — to propel you forward. This new kind of energy transfer — resulting in 21 percent less wear and tear on your muscles, for starters — should allow you to add more mileage to your runs. Keep in mind that those extra miles are being added on a sole that provides increased stability through a softer heal; is composed of a special lightweight foam to make your steps lighter; and has sections that react independently to keep your run smooth. Sure, this shoe’s loud. But that’s because it has a lot to say ($100; reebok.com).

Check out Lewis Hamilton and Thierry Henry putting the ZigTech into action. To get a 360-degree view, head over this way. Visit Reebok’s website for more info, where to find them, or to customize your own.

The bottom of this shoe is definitely different than most on the market, but they seem to have put some research into this product. Would be interested to read more consumer reviews.

I just bought these shoes because they are suppose to be amazing. Prior to having these shoe i had puma cross trainers which left me with little discomfort after running. I thought why not try these reebok’s out they might take that little pain away that i got from my cross trainers. NOT SO MUCH. I starting running with these “amazing shoes” about four days ago and the first day had no discomfort. Different story from there on… second and third day i had a lot of irritation in my leg when i stopped running. I thought hey maybe i just have to brake them in so i started wearing them to work and out to the stores.. also avoided running for three days after. Went for a run today hoping these shoes would live up to there rep. Sadly not. I ran fine for 20 mins and than stopped to see if i should continue or not. My leg felt like it had been pulled in two different spots not to mention the pain i felt in my knee cap (I did stretch as well!! before and after all my runs). I had to limp home to ice my leg front and back for a good hour. Lesson learned maybe sometimes less is more. My puma cross trainers may leave me with a little discomfort but hey they were 40$ not 113$. They wont sit in my closet and collect dust like these revolutionary Reebok’s will. Plus they didn’t cause me to limp home. Not writing Reebok off completely … just telling you get a pair of cross trainers from any company hell even Wal-mart. Just save the head ache of buying a trusted brand of shoes and throwing away the receipt that leave you 113$ in the whole. Trust me all you’ll have to show is a embarrassing limp on the walk back to your house. Thanks Reebok.

Will this allow me to run like a gazelle? A 240 lbs conures? Lol just kidding, but it does sound like you don’t have to put near as much energy into it as a normal running shoe. I sometimes have dreams about being able to run faster through some sort of kinetic energy. Maybe I seen these shoes somewhere and my subliminal mind took over.

I got a new pair of ZigTechs for my son and also came across this cheap baby stuff. Great is what it is.
