In October, 37 skydivers got to see the world’s tallest mountain from a whole new perspective.

This past October, a Brit Holly Budge and 36 others parachuted from above Mount Everest — deplaning at 29,500 feet — and landed safely at the highest drop zone achieved by a parachutist, a 12,350-foot Himalayan plain. “We were above the clouds you could see Everest and the other high mountains popping out of the top,” says Budge, who has about 2,500 jumps under her belt. The skydivers reached speeds of 140 mph before popping their parachutes, which had canopies that were three times larger than normal to accommodate for the thin air.

Skydiving is definitely not for the faint of heart. Those with a desire for a massive adrenaline rush and those wishing to add a very special memory to a holiday or weekend will love skydiving. It would probably be silly to note that if you’re scared of heights, planes, or falling, skydiving is not for you. But for those willing to take a chance and feel the wind rushing by your face and falling at speeds faster than many production cars can achieve, skydiving is for you.
