Dustin Johnson and the Luckiest Shot in Golf

Sunday at Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in Ohio, Dustin Johnson hit a lousy tee shot on the 10th hole on, his ball ended up stymied in the trees with no relief in sight. Trying to get back in play, Johnson hit a weak bump under the branches that landed only a few feet out of trouble on the cart path. And then it got rolling. His ball managed to trickle another 50 yards down the cart path to a spot with a shot at the green. He knocked his approach to 12 feet and two-putted to save a bogey. Had he sunk the par put, he would have finished tied for the lead and competed in the playoff that eventually decided the winner. Johnson ended up finishing third.

We hope he hasn't used up all his luck on this play, as he'll probably need a little magic next week around Oakmont if he wants to be in contention for the US Open again.
