Saturday, 3:30 PM: #5 Ohio State at Maryland
Looming just outside the playoff picture, waiting patiently for something weird to happen in, say, the Apple Bowl, Urban Meyer's Buckeyes beat the ever-loving devil out of Nebraska last week 62-3. The result itself was not so much a shock as the margin of victory, over a Huskers team who had been pretty good all year and was coming off a highly competitive loss to Wisconsin. The Buckeyes are now three weeks out from a home date against Michigan, in a matchup that looks ever more to be of Ali-Frazier proportions. In the meantime, they snack on poor Maryland, a good and scrappy team in the midst of a schedule run of medieval torment. If Ohio State is in the mood to make another statement, this will be ugly early on.
