Saturday 3:30 PM: Maryland vs. #3 Michigan
Michigan was never really threatened during their 32-23 defeat of Michigan State last week, but the Spartans at least managed to keep matters competitive, which has been something of a rarity for Wolverines opponents this season. With an inside track to a playoff berth, and the glowering, manic countenance of Jim Harbaugh at the helm, little seems to stand in the way of a long awaited return to the national championship sweepstakes. Former Wolverines defensive coordinator and first-year Maryland head coach D.J. Durkin has exceeded expectations to date with wins over UCF, Purdue, and Michigan State, and appears to have his 5-3 team on the verge of becoming bowl eligible with a sixth win. Just not this week.
