Saturday 5:30 PM, Cure Bowl: Arkansas State vs. UCF
I understand, intellectually, that The Cure Bowl has nothing to do with Robert Smith's band, but man wouldn't that be a great idea? Imagine: On a cinematically gray and forlorn day, two dispirited teams shuffle sullenly through a desperate low scoring struggle, before finally accepting their fate and slowly exiting the field in a beautifully orchestrated pageant of futility. Come on people! UCF was 6-6 in coach Scott Frost's inaugural season, losing three of their final five including the final two. Despite the up and down season, they have the talent customary of any school located in football-rich Florida. Arkansas State began their season a miserable 0-4, but managed one of the year's best turnaround jobs, winning seven of their last eight in salvage mode. They are a lot of fun, but will likely run into trouble in what is essentially a Knights home game in Orlando.
