Saturday, 8 PM: #8 Penn State at Rutgers
Like Wisconsin and the other powers in the Big 10, Penn State can conceivably make the playoffs if they win out and somehow triumph in the Big Ten title game. Of the potential contenders, they seem easily the most vulnerable, having stolen a close win against Ohio State and lost to Michigan by 39 earlier this season. They didn't look like world-beaters last week either, barely surviving a spirited challenge from an Indiana team that led most of the way. Nevertheless, James Franklin's squad has positioned themselves nicely, with only lowly Rutgers and brought-low Michigan State remaining on their regular season slate. Poor, sad Rutgers. They've lost seven straight, including a 49-point loss last week, which was admittedly better than the times they lost by 58 and 78(!) earlier this season. Ouch. They'll play better this week, but it doesn't figure to be close.
