The Famous Alpe d’Huez Makes an Appearance

The 21 switchbacks of the Alpe d’Huez are written into cycling legend. Some of the biggest names in the sport have won on this mountain and the 2018 Tour includes a mountaintop finish here. French rider Thibault Pinot was the last rider to win on the Alpe d’Huez in 2015. Climbers such as Colombia’s Nairo Quintana will be hoping to use this stage to crack four-time champion Chris Froome.
