Trekking for a week or more calls for a serious pack. The Arcteryx Bora 80 Backpack incorporates a plush, interchangeable, thermoformed hipbelt and shoulder harness that is connected to a sturdy V-stay suspension system, to comfortably handle expedition size loads. This robust pack is prepared for the worse with WaterTight zippers, DWR coated fabrics, and a reinforced bottom to repel the elements on the most grand of adventures. Convenience features include a kangaroo pocket with drain hole, key clip, sleeping bag compartment, two external daisy chains, ice axe holders and water bottle pockets.
Very tough pack
This is a very sturdy pack that is well designed and can cary a lot of stuff. If you are a minimalist, this is probably not for you. The padding, buckles, zippers and fabric are heavy duty, therefore, heavy in weight. It will take a lot of abuse. I carried it w/50lbs in the Whites in NH last winter for five days. The compartments are simple and well thought out for getting in, finding what you need and zipping back up before all your gear blows all over the place. The hip belt is about as heavy as you will find, but, I like the stability it provides for a few extra ounces
Arc'teryx is amazing
I used this pack hiking and it worked out great! Easily carries anything you can think of! the padding in it is excellent and does not rub or create sore spots. I give this pack 5 stars and if I needed another pack it would be my first choice.
Excellent
The 2004 model is a very great bag. Highly waterproof you don't have to bring a rain cover, abrasion resistant, you can carry loads heavier than 50 pounds and it's still comfortable, great back support.
