There comes a time when just over the next ridge isn't quite far enough, when a little deeper isn't quite deep enough. When it's time to start exploring the back of the backcountry the Burton AK 31L Pack Backpack is there. With multiple board carrying options, a quick-access cavernous main compartment, and avalanche gear always within reach, it defines guide-grade backcountry performance for when things get serious.
lacking in design
I expect a lot from Burton, they have done great things for snowboarding! So this new feature described as low-profile, sled ready, horizontal board carry is just two straps up the sides to hold the board right on your back. There is no fold down panel to put the board behind to protect your jacket from your edges. What a joke! This shows Burton is feeling the hard times, and cutting corners while trying to create new features. Not cool! I sent the pack back!
