Expensive, yes. Worth it? Absolutely.
I'm an ultra-light traveler and don't pack a lot of clothes. No synthetics and definitely no cotton. I need durable clothing that's comfortable, doesn't hold odor and dries quickly. The Icebreaker 150 line, and these shirts especially, fit the bill perfectly. I started with one shirt and now I have five and they are the only shirts I travel with. Highly recommended.

Soft and durable. The merino wool keeps you warm when when it's cool outside and cool when it heats up. I don't use my synthetics any more.

Don't let the price scare you
Icebreaker products have never let me down. Very comfortable and true to size. I'm 5'10" 170lbs and the medium fits perfectly--snug like a base layer should be while still allowing complete mobility. Works great for high endurance activities or just hanging out. Ditch the synthetics. You will not be disappointed.
