Good looking, lightweight jacket. A medium fit well, but was a bit long for my 5'8" frame. Still, the Moran is a keeper, and I'm looking forward to wearing it during my early April ski trip.

The first thing I noticed was this jacket is made with the usual attention to detail and quality of construction that I expect from Marmot. It is nicely sewn and the fabric feels first rate. I was pleased to see that it is a fuller cut jacket since I have put some weight (I bought a large and I am 5'9" and 185 pounds)and am just getting back to winter sports after a prolonged break. There is plenty of room for a base layer and a thermal layer under this jacket. On a cool (25 degrees) snowy morning the jacket kept me warm and dry with only a base layer while cross country skiing. The jacket is designed to give you maximum mobility and is very comfortable. The Moran is in the M1 series and would have been too warm if I was pushing myself, but for the relatively easy skiing I was doing it was fine. The one thing I wish it had is pit zips, but I did not overheat at all. As far as Altrec is concerned this was the first item I ordered from them and I am delighted with their service. The jacket was shipped quickly and for free. I would highly recommend both the jacket and Altrec!

This is a great jacket. It shouldn't be so hard to find.
Two years ago, I bought the black Moran jacket with red trim. Recently, I decided it was getting worn out looking and looked for a new one. But none of the stores I went to carried it. I went on line just before Christmas and couldn't find anything in stock in my size. Personally I think the black jacket with red trim looks a lot better than the other colors. I waited a few weeks after Christmas and bought two new ones, so I guess I am good for a few more years. Marmot should make this jacket in a few more colors, it's that good.
