Mt. Rainier is the tallest Mountain in Washington State and when you are bivying at the base of Interglaicer, in order to make your moonlit summit bid, warmth and protection from the weather is priority #1. Those who know and understand this pick the Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket for Men as their synthetic insulation piece because it has a great warmth-to-weight ratio and continues to insulate even when wet.
Great Jacket!
I bought this jacket a couple of years ago for my husband. He loved it so much I decided to pick up a second one for him. It is the perfect jacket throughout the year. Light weight, compresses into its own pocket. Super jacket!!
MH Jacket keeps you warm
This is a great jacket to have, lightweight, and warm. Great to layer with, my son loves his jacket too!
Small, lightweight warmth
I've used this jacket for several months and am delighted with how it performs. It's far lighter than fleece, packs smaller - comparable to down - and provides great warmth. Down would still be better for the middle of the winter, but this jacket is far better for every other season. I haven't tested it after a complete soaking, but it will definitely be warmer than down if it got wet. My only complaint is a strange tie-down neck strap that gets in way at the back of your head, but this is easily removed.
Great Layer
This jacket is fantastic and is the missing link to my layering system. With a merino wool base layer underneath, MH windstopper vest over, and waterproof shell on top, I'm set. I can easily adjust to weather conditions and pack light. The new MH Typhoon jackets are also sweet. Head for the mountains!
