This lightweight shell with all-season features provides solid protection when a hard downpour sets in for the long haul; the Men's Outdoor Research Foray Jacket features waterproof and extremely breathable GORE-TEX Paclite fabric that takes the wear-and-tear of the trail while TorsoFlo side zippers allow poncho-style ventilation when body heat needs to escape. With no bells or whistles left out, this jacket works as hard as you do but packs down tight once the weather breaks.
Great All Around Rain Jacket
I finally found the rain jacket I have been looking for... - casual fit - full pit-zips with taped zippers - gortex pac-lite - one inside pocket - two outside pockets with taped zippers - hood - similar fit to the Mountain Hardwear Typhoon Living in Chicago, I use this jacket for cycling, walking, adventuring out in the city. It packs pretty small and it fairly breathable.
usefull jacket!
very lightweight, excelent waterproof & great ventilation system, I use it in any weather condition.
Excellent shell
I replaced a time-worn Marmot Precip with the OR Foray and am very pleased. While I haven't had the chance to see the water proofing in action (I'm sure it will compare favorably with the Marmot - it is Goretex after all)- the venting on this thing is just great. I had it on this chilly morning breaking camp as a windbreaker - and left it on for the duration of the hike out. Never had that clammy feeling the Precip has, and once I started to sweat a bit the full length pitzip kept me from overheating. Also, the size is great - big enough to fit over an insulating layer like a Thermawrap, but not so flappy that it seems oversize. Overall I am quite happy with this piece.
Great Jacket, Great Puchase!
I purchased this jacket a while ago. I LOVE IT! Its lightweight, packable, & dependable in all weather (i.e. rain, snow, wind). Sometimes I'll wear it under a heavy coat for more insulation against the elements. *Only fault... I bought the 2X, but they don't make a 2X Pant (shucks).
