Perfect for going to work, or escaping it, the Patagonia Lightwire backpack incorporates recycled materials and a design that emphasizes simplicity in the details important throughout the day. Its separate, fully padded computer sleeve protects a 17-inch Mac or 15-inch PC laptop. The dedicated flat storage section holds files and magazines, and an external pocket offers one-handed access to an office organizer. The Lightwire is also a serious daypack with plenty of room for a jacket and lunch. Highly breathable 3-D spacer-mesh shoulder straps and padded back panel wick away moisture. Other features include a brushed fleece-lined audio device pocket, a sternum strap with built-in safety whistle, a tuck-away waist belt, a stretch water bottle pocket and an easy-access external security pocket. Made with a 150-denier recycled polyester double-weave exterior and a 200-denier polyester liner; both have a polyurethane coating and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.
great design
Separate compartment for laptop, very easy to store and remove it from backpack. Very good looking, the black one looks great even for work/meetings. Lots of compartments to sort out small and important items. Lightweight compare to similar size. Note the size is 20" long instead of 16" in all catalogues.
Solidly built, good looking day pack.
This pack is a good option for a light commuter day pack. It has a nice, securely padded and zipped off pouch for flat valuable electronics or laptops. It could also be used to keep paper folders and magazines from getting rumpled. A large main compartment stores the rest of your gear. There are a few organizer pockets in this area. A small zippered pocket on the back , also with a few organizer pockets and key ring, completes the storage. Comfortable and fairly light weight day carrier.
