Ball Cap of the Summer

We’ve loved Shepard Fairey since his Andre the Giant/OBEY street art began popping up around the East Village back in the '90s. (You may be most familiar with his red-and-blue poster featuring Barack Obama and the word Hope.) Fairey’s clothing line, also called OBEY, launched in 2001 and continues the artist’s tradition of bold graphics, streetwise swagger, and sly humor.

Ball caps have always played a vital role in street fashion and they ain’t going away anytime soon. Beyond that, this style of headwear is deeply rooted in Americana, from good ol’ boys to fashionistas, outdoorsmen to actual baseball fans. It’s a summertime staple of any man’s wardrobe.

We recommend you pick up the OBEY six panel underground cap. It’s 100 percent cotton, with a light blue denim crown and a brushed twill, light magenta visor with an embroidered iconic Obey logo on the front. It also has an adjustable strap in the back, so it fits anyone (even girlfriends). It has a great summer vibe and you can get it at East Dane right now for $31

It comes with a straight visor, so you old school, bent-bill kinda guys are gonna have to break it in yourself, but then this country was founded on self-reliance. Am I right?
