Norse Projects Norse Beanie
Now that the Giants embarrassed the Tigers in this year's World Series, we're going to politely ask you to shelve that 59Fifty until next spring. Not because we don't love the fall classic – we live for it, actually – but because there's a more stylish and seasonably appropriate hat in town. And it doesn't hurt (attention everyone west of A's- dominated Oaktown) that it's orange, which happens to be the color of the moment alongside mustard yellow.
The Copenhagen-based creators behind this cold-weather head cover are known for their ability to design minimalist pieces that pack a functional punch. So expect this beanie to be a crowd-pleaser not only because its papaya hue is easy on the eyes, but also because it's surprisingly light and soft to the touch. Assembled from the merino wool of prized Scottish sheep, it's far more comfortable than your sweat-soaked flat brim, not to mention warmer, too (the ribbed exterior allows it to better retain heat when things get frosty). Best of all, it can be folded and molded around your crown, avoiding that all-too-common drooping fabric up top, to make it feel and look made-to-measure.
It's too early to tell if the Boys from the Bay can win it all again next season (if you ask us, next year is all about Buck Showalter's upstart Orioles). But until then, we can promise you a headgear option that has home run written all over it. [$60; norseprojects.com]
