Founded in January by Harvard M.B.A.-cum-fashion entrepreneur Andrew Heffernan and Ralph Lauren alum Anna Lundberg, Beltology is gunning to corner the market on affordable woven belts that come in all sorts of colors. Made with a combination of elastic rayon – a material which can withstand just about anything and stretches while you stretch – and leather detailing, the line includes bright solids, nautical stripes, and eye-popping prints.

The belts are casual, but don't have to be. For proof, just look to the streets of Milan, where hundreds of Italian men rock contrasting belts all summer long. And if you pack on or lose a few pounds throughout the year, woven belts in particular may come in handy – unlike the leather variety, the buckles aren't constrained by pre-punched holes.

Beltology's green and mustard yellow options are tempting, but you probably won't reach for them when you have to attend a business meeting. Instead, stick to classic and versatile colors like red, white, blue, black and beige.
