Danner x Beckel Limited Edition Boot
Mastering the elements and terrain is one thing. Turning heads while you do it is another. When friends, and Portland neighbors, Danner and Beckel Canvas teamed up for a limited edition boot, the result wasn't just a coupling of two great American brands committed to quality and craftsmanship—but a wearable fusion of style, function, and form.
Working off the model of their classic Danner Light, designer Aaron Barker's team replaced the nylon corner panels with Beckel’s tough, 10-ounce water-resistant canvas. It's the same tight-weave, marine finish army duck that Beckel uses for their legendarily rugged tents. With a 6-inch high over-the-ankle fit and the meticulous detail Danner is known for—like handcrafted stitchdown construction, the finest full-grain leather uppers, and a sturdy Vibram Gumlite sole for comfort and grip—they're a solid and sure purchase on any path.
They're also remarkably light for such a substantial piece of footwear, and a breathable Dri-Lex liner helps keep you comfortable even in warm weather for year-round wear. But here's the thing: While you might be tempted to coddle them—don’t. Like everything both Danner and Beckel produce, these are built for the wear and tear. Even this limited edition showroom pair looks better and fits more comfortably once they're beaten up and broken in.
In three color schemes for men (mint canvas with brown leather [pictured], grey on grey, and khaki over black) the Danner x Beckel boot is fully equipped to take whatever you can dish out. You'll just look really good doing it. [$340; Danner x Beckel]
