Speed-date on a ski slope in Alberta’s Banff National Park
If you find yourself single this Valentine’s Day — and are looking for a partner who’s as active as you are — you may want to head north to Banff National Park where Mount Norquay ski resort will host a speed-dating event unlike any other. Called “Lifts of Love,” the event on Feb. 11 promises to put you “on a high-speed quad to the heart” by sending you uphill with a potential match on every chair. If things go well with your new date, you can head over to the turquoise Lake Louise and ski or snowshoe out to Skoki Lodge in the high alpine region of the national park via a seven-mile trail. Use this rustic-chic retreat (a national historic site) to access a number of cross-country routes and telemarking slopes into pristine backcountry.
