Wall Tent Camping: Ashland, Oregon
Book a rustic wall tent on a farm in southern Oregon’s Cascade Mountain Range and go hiking with a pack goat that’s been raised on the ranch. At the Willow-Witt Ranch, pack goats are in training to be companions for backpackers, and the adult goats can carry between 35 to 60 pounds. They're even taught to travel without a lead and swim across waterways when needed. Another perk of camping on a farm? You won’t have to forage far for food. You can stop by Willow-Witt’s “Farm Store” that is on site and shop for meat, sausage, milk, eggs, and vegetables (which you can pick fresh from the garden) — which you'll be especially grateful for after breaking a sweat at nearby Ashland’s Lithia Park, a 93-acre forested oasis, where you can join in on a game of tennis or play pick-up volleyball. If you’re on a family vacation, your kids will enjoy interacting with the goats, pigs, and ducks. Two-person wall tents start at $125 per night.
