Bike Montana’s Going-to-the-Sun Road
Each year before Glacier National Park’s iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road fully opens to cars (typically in late June or early July) cyclists have the opportunity to explore the route in peace as plowing crews make their way up to Logan Pass at 6,646 feet above sea level. Crews will post signs each day noting the exact closures of the hiker-biker section of the road, though you can go as far as you like after work hours. As you navigate this lush alpine wilderness expect views of soaring snowcapped peaks, rambling waterfalls, sure-footed mountain goats, and the odd grizzly bear off in the distance. Check the current road status for the latest updates on access and conditions.
