Just Try to Stay Bored in London
Ever wish boredom was a thing, like a thing you could celebrate with others? If we’re speaking your language, let us introduce you to The Boring Conference, a one-day tribute to all things mundane that will celebrate its seventh not-so-exciting edition in London on May 7. Past conferences have discussed such mind-numbing subjects as sneezing, toast, barcodes, and the sounds of vending machines. This year, the conference will cast a spotlight on bleach and mid-20th century Danish public information films, among other titillating topics. There will also be an on-stage ironing demonstration. If for some odd reason you need a stiff drink after the event, make a beeline for London’s new gin-themed hotel, The Distillery, which boasts two bars, a gin-museum, and a “ginstitute,” where you can learn to create your own blend.
