Loser: Whistler Blackcomb
Jordy Norris, local ripper and marketing manager for Blackcomb Helicopters in Whistler, British Columbia, reported that while the resort runs of Whistler aren’t anything to write home about, the backcountry powder of Canada’s Coast Mountains is snorkel-deep with more to come this weekend. “B.C. has been pretty damn cold everywhere, so all the resorts are blown out right now, but the backcountry has awesome snow right now if you can stay warm,” he wrote. “This is the coldest winter we’ve had for a long time.” Whistler is expected to experience a little bit of snowfall before the weekend, with accumulations topping out around 5.5 inches by Monday and temperatures staying below 25 degrees.
