Clash in Italy will be held on May 31 at Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. Four matches have been announced thus far, though more will likely be added in the coming days.

After the Clash in Italy event, WWE's next pay-per-view will be Night of Champions on June 27. That event will be held at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Rhea Ripley Is in Her Second WWE Women’s Championship Reign

Ripley regained the WWE Women's Championship by defeating Cargill via pinfall at night two of WrestleMania 42. The 29-year-old won her first WWE title at WrestleMania 37, defeating Asuka by pinfall.

Her victory at WrestleMania 42 also ended Cargill's first world title reign. Cargill had held the championship for 139 days, defeating Stratton at the Saturday Night's Main Event XLI pay-per-view.

"This summer, on average, Americans plan to spend more than $2,800 per adult on travel, with transportation ($699), hotels ($605), and food and dining ($400) leading the way," PwC said. "Notably, spending on nontraditional lodging such as vacation rentals and apartment stays was relatively low at $217, a potentially encouraging sign for the hotel industry."

Those hoping to save a little money will remain close to home.

"Twenty-four percent of respondents plan to spend less on travel this summer compared to last year, citing the high cost of everyday expenses and a focus on saving money and paying down debt," the report said.

A record 45 million Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home for Memorial Day between Thursday, May 21 and Monday, May 25, according to AAA.

39.1 million people will travel by car, despite the highest gas prices since 2022, and 3.66 million expected to fly to their destinations.

“Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer, and for most Americans, it’s a three-day weekend,” Stacey Barber, Vice President of AAA Travel said. “Travel demand remains strong, and despite higher fuel prices, many people are prioritizing leisure travel during holiday breaks.”

According to PwC’s US Consumer Poll on Summer Spending, 34% of adults plan to travel over Memorial Day, expecting to spend an average of $898 on the long weekend, and the generations driving that number are clear.

While Americans will be spending nearly $1,000 for the holiday weekend, not everyone wants to open their wallets.

Twenty-four percent of respondents plan to spend less on travel this summer compared to last year, citing the high cost of everyday expenses and a focus on saving money and paying down debt.

"It’s part of the broader K-shaped economic trend shaping the summer’s spending picture. But scaling back doesn’t mean opting out," PwC said. "The more common strategies are taking shorter trips (45%), spending less on eating out (44%), and traveling closer to home (42%). Only 18% plan to delay or skip certain trips entirely."

What Is Memorial Day?

Memorial Day and Labor Day act as the unofficial bookends to summer, with the former kicking off warm weather – depending on where you live.

“Memorial Day is an American holiday on the last Monday of May. It honors fallen service members of the U.S. military,” the Wounded Warrior Project said about Memorial Day.

“Americans began to recognize Memorial Day in 1868, and the country established it as a federal holiday in 1971. Originally known as ‘Decoration Day,’ the holiday started with communities coming together to decorate the graves of those who died during service.”

After some initial issues during the rollout that led to some high-profile criticism – even from the airline's own flight attendants – Southwest seems to have largely corrected the problems and now has its boarding process running much more smoothly. But even with a smooth boarding process, Southwest faces some hidden problems going forward.

Southwest Ends Open Seating

For decades, Southwest Airlines boarded its planes using a unique open-seating system in which customers boarded the plane in the order in which they checked in for their flight and then simply chose any available seat on the plane.

That system, however, has now officially been phased out. Starting in January 2026, Southwest moved to an assigned seating structure, introducing four new fare categories: “Basic,” “Choice,” “Choice Preferred,” and “Choice Extra.”

Passengers who book the “Basic” fare will either be given an automatically assigned seat the day before their flight or have the option to pay an additional fee to choose their own seat in advance. Meanwhile, the higher-tier fare options come with complimentary seat selection, though they also carry a higher overall cost.

As part of the transition to assigned seating, Southwest also introduced premium seating for the first time in company history, allowing travelers to purchase select seats that offer extra legroom.

While the change was made with customer feedback in mind and to boost profitability, Southwest now faces some hidden challenges to its operation as a result of the new policy.

Southwest Faces New Problems

Whie the new seating policy seems good hypothetically and the airline does seem to be adapting after the early issues, the change has also created more problems that could hinder Southwest's strategic advantages.

As Steven Walker of Simple Flying explains, Southwest's open-seating policy was actually integral to the airline's operation.

"One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding Southwest Airlines' boarding overhaul is the idea that open seating existed simply because passengers enjoyed it. In reality, the system survived for decades because it was operationally efficient. Passengers moved quickly through the cabin since they were not searching for assigned rows, and they typically chose the first acceptable seat they encountered rather than blocking the aisle while organizing carry-on bags," Walker wrote for Simple Flying this week.

"That process mattered enormously for Southwest Airlines because the airline’s business model depended on keeping aircraft in the air as much as possible. Every minute saved during boarding allowed the airline to schedule more flights each day, particularly on short-haul routes where aircraft spent relatively little time in the air compared with time at airports," Walker continued.

Walker's article explains in depth just how important turnaround speed is for Southwest's business model, and explained how the shift away from open seating has impacted boarding time in ways that would have been difficult to quantify beforehand.

"One reason the transition has proven more difficult than expected is that assigned seating fundamentally changes how passengers behave during boarding. Under open seating, travelers understood that delaying too long reduced their seating options, which encouraged faster decision-making and continuous movement through the cabin. Assigned seating removes much of that urgency. Passengers know their seats are guaranteed, so they move more slowly while focusing on overhead bin space, row positioning, and carry-on placement. That creates more stopping points throughout the aisle and increases congestion near popular sections of the cabin," Walker wrote.

While the shift to assigned seating may have seemed like a good short-term move that boosted profits and followed customer feedback, it sounds like it also created some long-term challenges for the airline. We'll have to see how Southwest manages it.

The Addams Family film series, consisting of The Addams Family (2019) and The Addams Family 2 (2021), is leaving the platform this month after just three months on the U.S.-based version of the streaming service.

The animated family films star Oscar Isaac as lovable family patriarch Gomez Addams, with Charlize Theron providing the voice of Gomez's better half, Morticia, making for A+ casting for fiction's most adoring couple. Their children, Wednesday and Pugsley Addams, are voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz and Finn Wolfhard (later Javon Walton in the sequel), respectively.

Among the supporting cast are Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt, and Bette Midler as Grandmama. Additionally, Martin Short and the late Catherine O'Hara voice Morticia's parents, Grandpa and Grandma Frump, respectively.

While the animated adaptations of the creepy and kooky family received mixed reviews from critics, both films earned a respectable combined $325 million at the box office. As for Netflix's live-action juggernaut series Wednesday, led by Jenna Ortega as the titular character, the new series is continuing its trend for major gaps between seasons, eyeing a late 2027-early 2028 release window.

Fester, the Wednesday spin-off starring Fred Armisen, reprising his role from the latter, was announced back in 2023, shortly after the success of Wednesday Season 1. Although news on the project has been relatively quiet since, Armisen gave an optimistic update on the series in August 2025.

“Yeah, we’re working on it,” Armisen said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “It’s fantastic… It’s amazing.”

“It’s so fun to do. It feels very organic,” the comedian continued. “That’s all I can really say about it as far as the anticipation of it all. I love getting to do it and to embody this character who’s existed for a long time. That’s the fun of it.”

Set during the Civil War, this film starring Matthew Broderick and Denzel Washington features the incredible story of the first all-Black infantry unit in the history of the country. Discussion on race relations, slavery, and more makes this a must-see in schools and homes alike for its patriotic spirit. Incredible acting from Washington and Morgan Freeman contributes to a classic watch all these years later.

Dylan released his self-titled debut on March 19, 1962. His sophomore studio effort, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, released on May 27, 1963, was his breakthrough. Sunday is the anniversary of another significant moment for Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones. On May 24, 1968, the band released a future timeless classic and standalone single, "Jumpin' Jack Flash."

The hit song peaked at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart for the weeks of June 18-24 and June 25-July 1.

Richards recalled the seemingly harmless event that would lead to the creation of a classic hit. According to Richards, it all came together after he and Jagger woke up to the former's gardener, Jack Dyer, stomping around outside.

"The lyrics came from a grey dawn at Redlands," Richards said. "Mick and I had been up all night, it was raining outside and there was the sound of these heavy stomping rubber boots near the window, belonging to my gardener, Jack Dyer…it woke Mick up.

"He said, ‘What’s that?’ I said, ‘Oh that’s Jack. That’s jumping Jack.’ … Mick said ‘Flash’ and suddenly we had this phrase with a great rhythm and ring to it. So, we got to work on it and wrote it."

And the rest is history.

Excluding Casino Royale (1967), a non-Eon production which spoofed the 007 franchise, each Bond movie before A View to a Kill received mixed to positive reviews. Ultimately, it would be the 14th Bond film that would first generate overwhelmingly negative reviews.

In a decision that baffled many at the time, Roger Moore was cast in A View to a Kill, even though he was 57. For what it's worth, Daniel Craig was the only other Bond actor to portray 007 in his 50s; he was 51 when No Time to Die began production in April 2019.

Christopher Walken was cast as the primary villain, Max Zorin, an arrogant and powerful industrialist who attempts to destroy Silicon Valley. Tanya Roberts starred as Stacey Sutton, the film's Bond girl. Grace Jones played May Day, one of the most popular secondary villains in the movie series.

A View to a Kill was released in the United States on May 24, 1985. Forty-one years later, the film certainly doesn't hold up compared to some of Moore's other Bond movies, namely Live and Let Die (1973), and The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).

'A View to a Kill' Ranks Among the Worst Bond Movies

Moore himself refused to give a glowing review of A View to a Kill. In a 2008 interview, he was quoted as saying, "I was only about 400 years too old for the part."

In November, Jesse Hassenger of GQ ranked all 27 James Bond movies from worst to first, including the aforementioned Casino Royale (1967) spoof. That film claimed the No. 27 spot, followed by A View to a Kill at No. 26.

Through its "Tomatometer" system, Rotten Tomatoes also ranks Casino Royale as the worst film, with A View to a Kill (a rating of 36 percent) taking the No. 26 spot. Depending on who you ask, of course, some might not consider the 1967 film a real Bond movie.

Politicians from around the United States have one-by-one announced the decision to lower flags to half-staff in remembrance of those who served.

"As we observe Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who died in service to our country. The recall, announced by SKS Copack and published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on May 23, 2026, involves a range of powdered beverage mixes that may be contaminated with Salmonella, a bacteria that can cause severe illness in some individuals. 

What Drinks Are Being Recalled

The recall covers a variety of specialty drink powders, which are commonly used in cafés and bubble tea shops. 

The affected products were sold under several popular brands, including:

The potentially contaminated items include flavored powders and mixes such as:

• Matcha green tea
• Caramel latte
• Milk tea
• Cappuccino mixes (like mocha and vanilla)

Because these products are typically used as ingredients rather than finished drinks, consumers may have encountered them in drinks that have been prepared at cafés or restaurants.

Why The Recall Was Issued

The recall stems from concerns that the products could be contaminated with Salmonella, a harmful bacteria linked to foodborne illness. 

According to the FDA, the issue traces back to a potentially contaminated ingredient—non-fat dry milk powder—supplied to SKS Copack, which prompted the company to pull the affected products, as a precaution. 

At the time of the announcement, no illnesses had been reported, but officials warned that the risk is still significant.

Salmonella is a group of bacteria that causes salmonellosis, one of the most common types of food poisoning.

Although no illnesses have been confirmed so far, the scope of this recall—and the potential severity of Salmonella infections—makes it a serious public health concern. 

With distribution spanning 25 states and products commonly used in drinks that many people consume daily, consumers are urged to stay vigilant and act quickly if they may have been affected.

An ‘Ozone Action Day’ has been declared for the Dallas–Fort Worth area through Sunday, May 24, as weather conditions set the stage for dangerous smog buildup. 

What Areas Are Affected—and For How Long

The alert covers the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area, one of the largest urban regions in Texas and home to millions. Major cities, including Dallas, Fort Worth, and Arlington, as well as surrounding counties such as Tarrant, Collin, and Denton, are affected.

According to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the weather conditions on Sunday—think heat, sunshine, and light winds—are ideal for ozone formation, especially in the afternoon and early evening.

What Ozone Actually Is

Ozone might sound harmless, but at ground level it’s a different story. This isn’t the protective ozone layer high in the atmosphere, which is “good” ozone—this is “bad” ozone, a key ingredient in smog, the TCEQ says.

It forms when pollutants from cars, power plants, and industrial activity—specifically nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs)—react in sunlight. 

Translation: Hot, sunny days plus heavy traffic equals polluted air that you don’t want in your lungs.

“It’s always a day that I treat like every other day. I don’t need one day to dedicate to my fallen brothers and sisters,” Comtois told Men's Journal. “I live my life because they sacrificed theirs.”

The 'Medicine' That Finally Helped Comtois' PTSD

The Marine Corps veteran served from 2005 to 2018, completing seven deployments, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. During his service, Comtois survived an IED explosion during his first deployment in Iraq, an experience that changed the course of his life.

Like many veterans and first responders, he later found himself battling PTSD and the invisible weight that follows people home long after the uniform comes off.

But healing didn’t happen through the medicine from the VA. For Comtois, it started outdoors. Fishing trips. Hunting. Time away from the noise to reflect on what he referred to as the "dead end road" his life was following. Comtois went on to explain that so many veterans and first responders grapple with PTSD and have trouble seeking help because their pride gets in the way, or they think no one will understand.

To help understand and support those dealing with PTSD, Comtois says, “The best medicine for that person is the buddy system. Get them in contact with someone that they served with or try to find someone that was in the same struggle as them so they have someone they can relate to.”

That idea eventually became the foundation for Outdoor Driven, a Michigan nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans, Gold Star families, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and EMS first responders reconnect through outdoor experiences and community.

The organization hosts hunting trips, fishing outings, ATV rides, climbing adventures, and other outdoor activities designed to give people a break from the stress and trauma they often carry in silence.

The Mission Behind Outdoor Driven

Comtois said nearly everyone who arrives at an Outdoor Driven outing comes carrying something heavy.

“Most of our veterans and first responders show up with heavy loads,” he said. “Our goal is to help lift that load with them and show them a great time with great camaraderie in the hopes of giving them an adventure that is aimed at lessening the impact of their everyday struggles.”

Sometimes the conversations happen naturally. Sometimes they don’t happen at all. Every experience is different depending on the person and the environment. But Comtois shared one moment that has stayed with him. During a deer hunting trip, a veteran opened up to him while the two sat together in a blind.

“At the end of that conversation he handed me a bullet that he said was chambered and ready to pull the trigger to take his life,” Comtois said. “He said he wanted me to have that bullet as a thank you for helping him realize that there is still hope out there.”

For Comtois, that moment reinforced exactly why Outdoor Driven exists.

“I’ve walked a mile in your shoes and then some,” he said of conversations he has with struggling veterans and first responders. “And I’ve had those same shoes resoled.”

The phrase reflects something deeply personal for him. While he still battles PTSD and difficult days of his own, he believes healing is possible.

“I still have my struggles every day with my PTSD and other issues,” he said. “But I’ve fixed what was truly broken in me and I’ve been able to move forward living the best life that I can.”

Ahead of Memorial Day, Comtois hopes people remember that honoring the fallen also means supporting those still carrying the weight of service long after coming home.

Starting a Fight on 'Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream'

Fights in Tomodachi Life are typically triggered by jealousy in a romantic relationship, such as a Mii getting close to another Mii of their preferred sex. They're a pretty rare event in the game, but you can increase their likelihood of happening when you fail to resolve an argument between two Miis, which can stem from a rejected apology. Apologies are more likely to be turned down if you don't allow Miis to cool down emotionally after they've argued, with tensions between the two still fraught.

Once the brawls kick off, they're hard to miss, with steam literally coming out of the heads of Miis as they throw objects from their inventory at one another and hurl some insults, to boot. At this point, apologies will not work whatsoever, and after the fight is over, the Mii may become depressed and refused to speak to the Mii or other Miis.

Resolving a fight on 'Tomodachi Life'

When it comes to fights between Miis, the best solution is prevention: AKA not letting them get to that point in the first place. If two of your Miis argue and you don't want it to escalate, it is best to keep them apart until the anger emotion (shown by an orange-red aura around their head) subsides.

This process can be sped up with food, gifts, a rub on the head, or new clothes; however, if your Mii is in a bad mood, they're more likely to spurn anything you give them. Travel tickets, which are non-optional for your Mii, are more likely to improve your Mii's mood overall. Only when the anger is diminished should you have the two Miis interact once more.

If a fight occurs and you wish to undo the damage, the same principle of giving mood-boosting gifts still applies, especially if they feel tense or depressed after the fight. The two Mii's relationship status will likely be extremely negative for some time after the fight, with plenty of rejections along the way, but the key solution to this is patience and consistency in making them interact — it is not impossible for two Miis to make up after a fight, but it does take some serious work by the player.

NASCAR Wrote That the NASCAR 'Family Is Heartbroken' Over Kyle Busch's Tragic Death

The tributes poured in for Busch, 41, who died unexpectedly after training in a racing simulator. He had been struggling with a sinus cold and sustained cough for at least 11 days.

"On behalf of the Busch family, everyone at Richard Childress Racing and all of NASCAR, we are devastated to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Kyle Busch," NASCAR said in a statement.

"Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation. He was fierce, he was passionate, he was immensely skilled and he cared deeply about the sport and fans."

Many other racing legends, including Mario Andretti, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and others also shared moving and grief-stricken tributes to Busch following his death.

Busch is survived by his wife, Samantha, and their two small children, as well as his brother Kurt Busch, who is in NASCAR's Hall of Fame.

"The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications," Busch's family said in a May 23 statement released to The Athletic's Jeff Gluck. "The Family asks for continued understanding and privacy during this difficult time."

A man wrote in the comment thread, "Same exact thing took my mom 6 weeks ago. It's heartbreaking to see it happen to a loved one and your powerless. Prayers to the Busch family." Busch, who had been struggling with a sustained cough and sinus cold, went unresponsive after using a racing simulator.

How Does Sepsis Turn Into Pneumonia? What Is Sepsis?

According to the Sepsis Alliance, "Pneumonia is an infection in the lungs. The infection can be only in one lung, or it can be in both." Pneumonia is caused by a virus, bacteria, or fungus.

"Left untreated, the infection can be deadly. In the days before antibiotics, it’s estimated that about one-third of those who developed bacterial pneumonia died," the Alliance wrote.

"Sepsis and septic shock can result from an infection anywhere in the body, including pneumonia," the Sepsis Alliance added. "Sepsis, which was often called blood poisoning, is the body’s life-threatening response to infection. Like strokes or heart attacks, sepsis is a medical emergency that requires rapid diagnosis and treatment."

According to the Alliance, people can get Sepsis in many different ways. "Any infection, anywhere in the body, can cause sepsis. While sepsis is most frequently caused by respiratory infections, like pneumonia; urinary tract infections (UTIs); and infections on the skin, other infections that may not seem serious can also cause sepsis," that site explained.

Sepsis Can Cause a Dramatic Blood Pressure Drop & Organ Damage

According to the Mayo Clinic, Sepsis "is a serious condition in which the body responds improperly to an infection. The infection-fighting processes turn on the body, causing the organs to work poorly."

"Sepsis may progress to septic shock. This is a dramatic drop in blood pressure that can damage the lungs, kidneys, liver and other organs. When the damage is severe, it can lead to death," the Mayo Clinic added.

According to the Mayo Clinic, symptoms of sepsis may include:

• "Symptoms specific to the type of infection, such as painful urination from a urinary tract infection or worsening cough from pneumonia."
• Change in mental status.
• Fast, shallow breathing.
• Sweating for no clear reason.
• Feeling lightheaded.
• Shivering.

What Is the Mortality Rate for Sepsis?

It's possible to recover from Sepsis. But the mortality rate is high when people go into septic shock.

"As sepsis worsens, vital organs, such as the brain, heart and kidneys, don't get as much blood as they should. Sepsis may cause atypical blood clotting. The resulting small clots or burst blood vessels may damage or destroy tissues," Mayo Clinic wrote.

"Most people recover from mild sepsis, but the mortality rate for septic shock is about 30% to 40%. Also, an episode of severe sepsis raises the risk for future infections."

A major study found that sepsis among the young is increasing.

Priscilla is certainly a different take on the musical superstar than the Baz Luhrmann-directed Elvis biopic released the previous year, with which Priscilla conversed with the filmmaker over during production, praising the final product. Viewers may see the smaller-budget biopic as an alternate narrative or even a companion piece to Elvis, offering another side to the story away from the glitz and glamour of the traditional Elvis story.

The first single following Morrison's departure from Decca Records and the break-up of his band, named Them, was his highest-charting U.S. hit to date, landing at no. 10 on the Billboard charts — although it may have climbed higher had it not been refused by several radio stations.

"It was a kind of Jamaican song… Calypso. It just slipped my mind," Morrison later remarked (via American Blues Scene). "I changed the title. After we’d recorded it, I looked at the tape box and didn’t even notice that I’d changed the title. I looked at the box where I’d lain it down with my guitar and it said Brown Eyed Girl on the tape box. It’s just one of those things that happens."

While Morrison couldn't be described as any way committed to the interracial dynamic of the original, its release in a country still in the throes of desegregation and the Civil Rights Movement would have significantly impacted the success of the record, for better or for worse, making the resulting offence over the words "making love" rather humorous in comparison to what could've been.

CM Punk made a brief appearance on the April 20 episode of Monday Night Raw, one day after losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 42.

On Raw, Punk had a short interaction with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. The latter told Punk, "Just say when," hinting at a potential title bout down the road.

In an update, False Finish reports that WWE adjusted CM Punk's post-WrestleMania schedule and creative plans, which is why he's been off of television for five weeks.

"Sources tell False Finish that CM Punk is currently awaiting creative to return to WWE TV," the report said. "Punk's schedule and creative were shifted after WWE made the decision to move Gunther to SmackDown along with bringing Jacob Fatu to RAW to feud with Roman Reigns."

Rhodes is set to defend his WWE Championship against Gunther at Clash in Italy on May 31, and Fatu will challenge Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Punk held the World Heavyweight Championship for 169 days before dropping the title to Reigns at WrestleMania.

CM Punk Is Reportedly Part of the SummerSlam 2026 Plans

Last week, WrestleVotes reported in a Q&A session (h/t Ryan Clark of eWrestlingNews) CM Punk will return for SummerSlam 2026. The marquee pay-per-view takes place at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on the Aug. 1-2 weekend.

CM Punk competed at SummerSlam 2024 (a loss to Drew McIntyre) and SummerSlam 2025 (a victory over Gunther). WWE usually stacks up the SummerSlam card with its top stars, so it would be a surprise if CM Punk.

The song, the first single from the blues-oriented band's fourth album, Brothers and Sisters, came at a turning point for the group. Brothers and Sisters was their first major work since the death of bassist Berry Oakley in 1972, a tragic motorcycle accident fuelled by the excessive substance abuse Oakley had fallen into following the death of the band's leader, Duane Allman, also from a motorcycle accident, the previous year.

Now with a fractured founding group and a creative crossroads, The Allman Brothers took a year to nail the melody of the song, although the lyrics came in quick succession. Named after the Hank Williams song of the same name, the new, more country-rooted track, spoke of a lone figure aimlessly making his way through his spiritual abyss. 

"Sometimes things like that just come together, like on a whim or like a piece of magic, and it all falls into place," Betts told Guitar Playerin 2019. "I wrote that song on paper in just five minutes, like I was writing a letter to my girlfriend.”

While not explicitly about the deaths of Allman and Berry, the lyrics, rooted in the fictional, story-driven style of country and southern rock, allude to the feeling of isolation and embrace of chaos many feel as a result of grief from a sudden, even violent, loss. For example, "Well, my father was a gambler down in Georgia/And he'd wound up on the wrong end of a gun," depicts a sort of nihilistic acceptance of the tragic circumstances.

The subsequent lyrics, "And I was born in the back seat of a Greyhound bus/Rollin' down Highway 41," are an expression of the narrator's current state, continuing on the journey of life and a bittersweet embrace of the survivor's fate.

"We played it all live. I was standing where Duane would have stood with Berry just staring a hole through me, and that was very intense and very heavy," guitarist Les Dudek said of the recording experience in the book One Way Out: The Inside History of the Allman Brothers Band by Alan Paul.

That sort of emotional resonance, experienced by the band when the song had already been written, was one shared by listeners across the U.S., with "Ramblin' Man" becoming the Allman Brothers' first and only top 10 single, later ranked as one of the top 100 greatest rock songs of all time by Ultimate Classic Rock.

A significant shift in the band's core dynamic and sound, "Ramblin' Man" represented a reluctant acceptance of life's uncontrollable upheavals, no matter how unwelcome they are, an idea only underlined by the pessimistic storytelling prevalent in country rock.

While this is often exciting news for some fans as they hear news about the plans for their favorite shows, it's also a frustrating time as some fan-favorite series are canceled. Unfortunately, that was the case for one fan-favorite series that has been quietly canceled after 18 seasons and 17 Emmy Awards.

'So You Think You Can Dance?'

Premiering on Fox in July of 2005, So You Think You Can Dance had a simple premise, bringing dancers from completely different backgrounds like ballet, hip-hop, ballroom, and contemporary to compete across styles well outside their wheelhouse. Judges and home viewers would then combine to eliminate one dancer each week until a single winner claims the title of America's Favorite Dancer.

The show was incredibly well-received. Over 18 seasons, So You Think You Can Dance earned 74 Primetime Emmy nominations and walked away with 17 wins, the bulk of them for Outstanding Choreography.

So You Think You Can Dance has also successfully launched several superstar careers, including tWitch, Ariana DeBose, and Tate McCrae, all of whom got their start on the show.

The show ran 18 seasons, spanning nearly two decades, with the most recent season airing back in 2024. Over the years, it survived multiple hiatuses, format changes, and a constantly revolving judging panel. However, it sounds like that run is officially coming to an end.

Quietly Canceled

As Fox put together its schedule for the upcoming television season, president Rob Wade confirmed that So You Think You Can Dance had been canceled with "no plans" for another season on the horizon.

“Obviously, a really important show in the history of Fox, and right now, there’s no plans to order another season,” Wade told reporters according to Variety, referring to the network’s upcoming 2026-2027 television schedule. “We’ve had conversations about it, but nothing formal.”

Obviously, Wade left the door open for a possible return at some point in the future, but he also made it quite clear that the show was not in the network's plans in the foreseeable future despite its history and accolades.

My Honest Thoughts

This is a fantastic sun hoodie. While I do appreciate merino wool for its odor-fighting properties, I think the polyester fabric in this hoodie makes a difference, maintaining optimal ventilation, wicking away sweat, and stretching in all directions for an enhanced range of motion. I have worn this as my sole top when stepping out, and even on a full-day excursion, I felt mobile, shaded but not cold, and dry at the same time, even when sweating.

The three-panel hood easily fits over a cap, and I used the thumbholes to keep the sleeves comfortably over my hands so they didn't burn, and it worked. I also found that the sleeves scrunched up easily and didn't fall.

The hoodie definitely stinks after a full day of sweaty adventure, but it washes up nicely and doesn't retain odors. I also didn't find the drawstring the first few wears, and so while I think it's neat that REI was able to offer that, I don't think it's totally necessary, save for some who may be experiencing heavy splashing or wind.

If you're poised to hit the outdoors this summer, it's worth picking up a Sahara Shade Hoodie, especially while they're on sale.

The record, kept off the top spot by Rod Stewart's aptly-named "I Don't Want to Talk About It" / "The First Cut Is the Deepest," either narrowly missed out on the accolade due to its national radio and television ban and its censorship of its revolutionary message, or only received such high sales figures due to its attention-grabbing tactics and pandering — depending on who you ask.

Whether you asked a disenchanted youth fully immersed in the explosive British punk scene of the time, or a staunch monarchist concerned with upholding the traditions of the British institutions, both of them would state that "God Save the Queen" was the most important, decisive record of 1977, the year of Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years on the throne.

Although songwriter and lead singer John Lydon, AKA Johnny Rotten, later said he isn't inherently opposed to the monarchy, its lyrics, namely "God, save the Queen / She ain't no human being," or "And our figurehead / Is not what she seems," unmistakably point to a rejection of the respect the British constitutional monarchy demands of its subjects. It is no surprise then that the publicly-funded BBC opted for a blanket ban on the song's broadcast on its national and local TV and radio stations.

Even without its named target or its album art, depicting a defaced photograph of Queen Elizabeth with her eyes and mouth covered by the title and Sex Pistols name, "God Save the Queen" was about far more than one person on a throne — it was two fingers up, the older, British take on the middle finger, to the entire national institution and what the song labelled "the fascist regime" of the late 70s.

The years preceding Thatcherism and its decade in power were marred by economic turmoil, industrial strikes, and racial divisions, one that would, on the opposite side of the political spectrum, give birth to the punk movement: a rebellious subculture unconcerned with British tradition and its culture of polite docility. Instead, "God Save the Queen," with its ear-splitting sound impossible to ignore, with sneering delivery by the messy-haired, foul-mouthed Johnny Rotten speaking on behalf of a generation: "We're the flowers in the dustbin / We're the poison in your human machine / We're the future, your future."

Although "God Save the Queen," in its insistence that "there is no future / In England's dreaming," is objectively a statement of disillusion with the crumbling British Empire, it is arguably an optimistic song, calling on the upcoming generations to shake off the dusty shackles of Britain's failing socio-economic system. Narrowly missing a total victory on the battle of the music charts, many supporters of the punk movement have since claimed its #2 status was a fix.

Record stores, such as the Virgin Megastore, were reportedly not counted in its final sales stats on the week of the Jubilee celebrations, and institutions such as the BBC, British Parliament, and the major retailers that refused to stock the record were accused of working to dismantle the growing anti-authoritarian movement. Whether this conspiracy is true or not, "God Save the Queen," and its banning from broadcasts, marked a rattling of the establishment that only made the youth-driven punk movement impossible to ignore, with the censorship only bringing more attention to the Pistols' anti-national anthem.

Who Named 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' the Best Action Movie Ever Made?'

In October 2025, Ranker updated its article that allows film fans to weigh in on what the "best action movie ever made" is. According to the ranking, Terminator 2: Judgment Day is the best action film of all time with 7,578 upvotes and 2,979 downvotes. Unsurprisingly, Die Hard was ranked second, but it only received 1,271 upvotes and 420 downvotes, meaning T2 was in first place with a comfortable lead in the thousands.

Ranker's article detailed several reasons why Terminator 2: Judgment Day topped the list. The outlet credited the beloved film for showcasing "groundbreaking visual effects," an "intense storyline," "epic chase scenes", and "thrilling showdowns between cyborgs." Those are only some of the reasons why the film is an all-time classic that has passed the test of time and defines the action genre for many.

Truly a masterpiece, Terminator 2: Judgment Day features everything you could want in an action movie and more. For example, simply mentioning that it features "epic chase scenes" doesn't go nearly far enough. After all, that implies two cars driving down a roadway. In actuality, T2 features a helicopter performing dangerous low-to-the-ground stunts as it chases an armored truck and fires upon the people inside. It also showcases a transport truck and motorcycle chase that includes both vehicles performing dangerous jumps. Of course, the movie also arguably showcases the most impressive running ever captured on film, which leads to the T-1000 chasing after a car.

More than just a chase movie, Terminator 2: Judgment Day's unforgettable scene of Arnold Schwarzenegger using a minigun to rain down bullets from a building is incredible to watch. All of that is to say nothing about the T-800 and T-1000 battles and the fact that all of the action matters because the movie really makes viewers care about the characters. For all those reasons and more, it is very easy to see why James Cameron'sTerminator 2: Judgment Day deserves this accolade from fans.

Father and Daughter Arrested

Gonzalez, 24 and her 59-year-old father, Francisco Gonzalez face criminal charges for this attempt on his life. She “repeatedly said she wanted Jack Avery dead and discussed hiring a hitman,” according to a probable cause arrest warrant and affidavit.

On May 18, Gabriela Gonzalez was booked into a Los Angeles County jail, where she is currently being held on $2 million bail.

Gonzalez paid her friend Kai Cordrey, about $10,000 in April 2021 to carry out the hit, which they planned to stage as a car accident. Bank records show a money transfer into Bitcoin and an additional $4,000 bank transfer in 2021.

Avery ended his statement by thanking supporters and emphasizing that his focus remains on protecting his daughter and moving forward privately with his family. Gonzalez and the other individuals charged are awaiting further legal proceedings as the investigation continues. Neither Gonzalez nor her representatives have publicly commented on the allegations.

What happened to Nancy Guthrie? It's one of the biggest true-crime mysteries of the year, if not the decade. The mom of TODAY Show co-host Savannah Guthrie was snatched from her home during the early morning hours of February 1 and hasn't been seen since.

Periodically, there appears to be a possible break in the case. And so it was with a bone discovered near her home. However, new details have now emerged on that find.

The Bone Found Near Nancy Guthrie's Home Was 750,000 Years Old

According to The New York Times, the bone "was more than 750 years old." The bone was discovered by a live streamer, who promptly called police, while also capturing the discovery on video, The Times reported.

James T. Watson, the curator of bioarchaelogy at the Arizona State Museum, was contacted by the Times for an explanation. He said the bone "dated back to a period between 650 and 1250 A.D., when the Hohokam people tended farms and lived in the area," which is interesting in and of itself but wholly unrelated to what happened to Nancy Guthrie.

Watson told The Times, “Whether it’s Nancy Guthrie or an ancient individual, you shouldn’t be poking at them with a stick. It’s common decency. Would you do that with your grandmother’s remains?”

“This will be a prehistoric anthropological investigation,” a Tucson police spokesman said, according to The Times. “This is not a criminal investigation.”

"The Hohokam lived in the Phoenix Basin along the Gila and Salt Rivers, in southern Arizona along the Santa Cruz and San Pedro Rivers, and north on the Lower Verde River and along the New and Agua Fria Rivers," the National Park Service wrote. "Hohokam influences were even more widespread, with Hohokam-style architecture and artifacts as far north as Flagstaff, Arizona, south into northern Sonora, Mexico, and east into southwestern New Mexico."

They were known for their farming techniques in the desert. "Their cultural pattern existed from the first years A.D. through about A.D. 1450, barely 90 years before Spanish explorers arrived in the Southwest. During this time, they achieved remarkable successes. The Hohokam are probably most famous for their creation of extensive irrigation canals along the Salt and Gila river," the National Park Service noted.

The Pima County Sheriff Has Said DNA Analysis Is Ongoing in the Nancy Guthrie Case

There is other legitimate evidence in the case, although authorities have been cryptic about it, other than revealing in an early press conference that blood droplets on the porch tested to Nancy. "PCSD has worked with the FBI since the beginning of the Guthrie investigation. This is not new information. The private lab we utilize in Florida continues to share information with the FBI lab & other partner labs across the country. DNA analysis remains ongoing," the Pima County Sheriff wrote in a statement.

In addition, authorities previously released chilling door cam videos that show the suspect, masked and armed with a gun, at Nancy's front door.

Authorities are also analyzing hair evidence in the case. They have said little about suspects, other than to rule out Guthrie's kids and their spouses as suspects in the case.

Despite the album's critical acclaim and lasting legacy, it foreshadowed one of rock's greatest tragedies. Just months after releasing a record famous for its brooding lyrics and melancholy melodies, Joy Division's frontman, Ian Curtis, took his own life in May 1980 at just 23 years old.

Curtis suffered from epilepsy, a condition that caused him to have sporadic seizures. His epilepsy was particularly severe, at times even causing him to have seizures onstage mid-performance. In one live performance of "She's Lost Control," Curtis began seizing towards the end of the song and cleverly turned his frantic motion into a dance. Those in the dark about his condition would have never guessed he was having a seizure.

Ironically, the song "She's Lost Control" is not very subtly about his frequent seizures. "And she screamed out kicking on her side / And said I've lost control again," Curtis sings. "And seized up on the floor, I thought she'd die / She said I've lost control."

Unfortunately, Curtis' epilepsy worsened in the last few years of his life. His friends and family would frequently find him on the floor with cuts and bruises, according to Elsevier. As his condition worsened, Curtis became increasingly checked out.

"With the epilepsy, he just knew he couldn’t carry on with the performances," his friend Lindsay Reade told Uncut. He’d sort of hit a pinnacle with [Joy Division's second album] Closer, and he knew he couldn’t go on.”

After Curtis' death, Joy Division's surviving members Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, Peter Hook, and Gillian Gilbert became New Order, and continued pioneering new wave music.

He experienced shortness of breath, felt he was overheating and was coughing up blood the day before his death, according to a 911 call.

In a statement released jointly by the Busch family and NASCAR, Busch suffered from a "severe illness" before his death, but no official cause of death was announced until Saturday morning.

On Saturday morning the Busch family announced the driver died at 41 years old from severe pneumonia that progress into sepsis.

"The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications," NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass wrote from the Busch family statement.

What Is Sepsis?

Sepsis is a serious condition in which the body responds improperly to an infection. The infection-fighting processes turn on the body, causing the organs to work poorly, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Sepsis may progress to septic shock, which is a dramatic drop in blood pressure that can damage the lungs, kidneys, liver and other organs. When the damage is severe, it can lead to death.

Any type of infection can lead to sepsis, per the Mayo Clinic, but those that more commonly cause sepsis include:

• Lungs, such as pneumonia.
• Kidney, bladder and other parts of the urinary system.
• Digestive system.
• Bloodstream.
• Catheter sites.
• Wounds or burns.

Most people recover from mild sepsis, but the mortality rate for septic shock is about 30% to 40%.

Waymo has recently expanded into several new markets: Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Orlando. The expansion brought the total number of cities the company operates in to 10, following earlier expansions into Miami and Austin. Waymo taxis currently operate on freeways in four locations: San Francisco, Los ‌Angeles, ⁠Phoenix, and Miami. Waymo says it was evaluating and improving performance around some construction areas, but that street operations were unaffected. However, following flooding in Atlanta, Waymo paused service in the city when one of its unoccupied taxis stopped in floodwater on Wednesday, May 20.

Waymo previously recalled around 3,800 of its vehicles earlier in May. At the time, the company said the recall was because its vehicles could enter flooded roads with higher speed limits. The recall followed an incident on April 20, when a Waymo drove into a flooded lane in San Antonio, Texas. Again, the vehicle was unoccupied. At the time, the company said it was "working to implement additional software safeguards," and that it would put "mitigations in place" so that vehicles avoid floodwater.

The streamer changes its catalog of existing films every month, with a whole array of new titles coming to existing subscribers on June 1. Creed and its two immediate sequels are some of the highlights of this month's offerings.

Directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, and Sylvester Stallone, the original Creed movie was an enormous success that effectively reignited the popularity of Stallone's original Rocky franchise for a new generation.

The movie follows Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky's old rival-turned-friend, Apollo Creed. The boxing legend agrees to train the young prodigy after seeing just how talented he is, putting his career on the line to help Adonis become the next boxing champion.

The film received strong reviews from critics upon its release in 2015, with many audiences praising its ability to balance the legacy of a timeless classic such as Rocky with a bold, original new story that doesn't rely too heavily on nostalgia or callbacks. It's often named as one of the best so-called 'legacy sequels' there's ever been, setting the blueprints for many similar movies to follow.

Creed was also a huge box office success, pulling in $174 million against a reported budget of $35 million (via Box Office Mojo). It was a huge profit-maker for Warner Bros. and MGM, who quickly built it into a self-sustaining franchise with two further sequels.

Both Creed II and Creed III performed even better than the original movie, raking in an impressive $214 million and $276 million, respectively. The franchise has continued to get bigger in scope and scale, developing Adonis' story with new rivals, romances, and personal challenges to overcome.

While it's now been three years since Creed III was released, the franchise is showing no signs of stopping. Michael B. Jordan will executive-produce an upcoming television series titled Delphi, which centers around a group of young boxers learning to harness their skills and compete on the world's biggest stage.

Jordan has also confirmed that Creed IV is in the works, but it could be a while before the film actually gets made. He's expected to return as the film's director following his filmmaking debut on Creed III, though there has been no official confirmation of this.

All three Creed movies will arrive on Netflix in the United States on June 1, 2026. Those who can't wait until next month can purchase or rent the film through any major VOD platform, such as Amazon Prime or Apple TV.

The Shining is in that latter category. After it debuted 46 years ago, May 23, 1980, the psychological horror thriller made minimal box office impact and earned middling reviews from multiple film aficionados.

Now, Stanley Kubrick's project, which starred Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall and was based on Stephen King's book of the same name, is thought of as one of the greatest films of all time.

The Shining took some brutal hits in its time

Perhaps more embarrassing than the multitude of mixed reviews it received, The Shining was nominated for a pair of Golden Raspberry Awards in 1981. Kubrick was put up for Worst Director, with Duvall being nominated for Worst Actor.

The latter decision remained controversial for years afterwards and was eventually rescinded in 2022.

However, the film has aged like fine wine

Upon reappraisal, The Shining has seen its reputation do a 180 among fans and critics.

Consider these assessments:

• Back in March, Empire Magazine’s reader-voted list had it as the 34th-best movie of all time.
• That same month, Time Out's panel of experts named it the No. 2 horror film ever.
• Variety named it the No. 90 film of all time in 2022.
• A 2015 poll by the BBC found it to be the No. 62 American film of all time.
• In 2012, a directors poll for Sight & Sound ranked it the 75th greatest film of all time
• The Guardian named it the fifth-best horror film ever made in a 2010 list.

Additionally, The Shining has an 84% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, along with an 8.4/10 on IMDB and an 8/10 on Screen Rant.

Scottie Scheffler entered as the heavy favorite, while Si-Woo Kim, Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka weren't too far behind in the odds to win the tournament. The latter got off to a scintillating start after changing his putter a day before the tournament with an eight-under, 63 to take the lead.

It was Si-Woo Kim, though, who blistered the field with an 11-under, 60 on Friday to take a commanding five-shot lead into the weekend.

One golfer, though, won't be competing.

Cameron Champ Withdraws From CJ Cup Byron Nelson

Shortly before the second round teed off, the PGA Tour's communications department revealed Cameron Champ withdrew from the tournament.

No reason was announced for his decision to withdraw.

The announcement came after Champ carded a three-over, 74 in the first round of the tournament to sit well outside of the cut line. His day started on the right track with birdies on two of his first three holes before a bogey on No. 14.

He went on to birdie No. 16 to get back to two-under, but his round unraveled after that with three more bogeys and a double-bogey to finish at three-over and 11 shots off the lead.

Cameron Champ Was Promising PGA Tour Golfer

Champ emerged as one of the most talented golfers on the PGA Tour early in his career. He found his first PGA Tour win at the Sanderson Farms Championship with a four-shot victory over longtime PGA Tour golfer Corey Conners.

He followed that up with a win at the Safeway Open in 2019 before making a strong run in two major championships in 2020. Champ finished in a tie for 19th at the Masters in 2020 before a top-10 at the PGA Championship where he was in contention on Sunday before a double-bogey on No. 9 derailed his chances of his first major victory.

During Thursday's Stellantis media day, during which the company outlined its plans for the future, Tim Kuniskis showed The Drive a "Jeep Wrangler Scambler SRT." The model is a two-door based on the Gladiator truck with longer doors for easier access to the rear seats. Jeep's new truck features removable roof panels used on current Wrangler models, and the rear seats will be able to pivot and face the rear of the vehicle.

The front end of the Scrambler has a "shark nose design" with a forward-leaning leading edge on the hood, not unlike previous Jeep Easter Safari concepts. The Drive called it a mishmash of the two above Jeep concepts. In front, the Scrambler will have independent suspension and possibly an independent rear end. Jeep didn't provide a production timeline, but before the end of the decade is a possibility given the brand's plans to launch several new models in conjunction with Stellantis' greater product initiative for the back half of this decade.

As for a powertrain, CEO Kuniskis has confirmed that the Gladiator truck will get the Wrangler's 392 V8. It's a possibility that this same powertrain could be made available for the Scrambler, too. Likely, it will be offered alongside Jeep's existing powertrains, including its V6 and turbocharged four-cylinder powertrains. Notably, Jeep still offers a manual transmission for the Wrangler's V6 powertrain, but not in the Gladiator.

"TV should be easy, and with YouTube TV Plans launching this week, we’re giving customers more control over their subscriptions," the company said in a statement at the time. "Over the next several weeks we are rolling out 10+ plans across Sports, News, Entertainment and Family content, priced lower than the main YouTube TV Plan."

New Channel Added to Sports Plan

Just over two months into the new venture, CordCutters News is reporting YouTube TV added a new channel to the sports plan.

"YouTube TV has announced the inclusion of the ION channel in its sports package, marking a significant step forward for subscribers seeking comprehensive access to women’s professional basketball," it said.

ION Previously Announced New WNBA Deal

The move to include ION in the YouTube TV sports package is a welcomed sight for WNBA fans who have a litany of channels to track down in order to watch their favorite team.

In 2025, ION announced a new deal to broadcast WNBA regular-season games on Friday nights after the league and Scripps reached a multiyear media rights deal.

"This new multi-year agreement reflects the growing excitement surrounding the league and the rising demand for WNBA games," WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in a statement at the time. "Through Scripps' ION Network Friday Night doubleheaders, we will continue to showcase the world-class talent of WNBA athletes to even more fans nationwide."

ION initially began airing WNBA game on Friday nights in 2023, with the initial three-year agreement reportedly worth $13 million annually.

Details of the new deal were not provided, but given the spike in popularity of the league, the new deal was likely much more expensive.

The company and several franchise operators have started restoring dine-in locations into retro “Pizza Hut Classic” restaurants, complete with old-school decor pulled straight from the 1980s and 1990s. Red roofs, vintage-style lighting, buffet setups, arcade games, and salad bars are suddenly cool again — especially for adults chasing the feeling of what going out to eat used to feel like.

Nostalgia Has Become a Business Strategy

"RCMP is seeking public assistance in locating Stewart McLean who was reported missing on May 18, 2026," a statement read. "Stewart McLean was last seen on May 15, 2026.   Police are very concerned for Stewart’s health and well-being."

Just a few days later, his remains were identified after it was announced that the missing actor was possibly a victim of homicide.

"Squamish RCMP initiated an investigation and, through investigative efforts, uncovered evidence that led investigators to believe Mr. McLean was victim of homicide," the Squamish RCMP said in a statement.

On Friday, May 22, Canada's Integrated Homicide Investigation team announced McLean's remains were located in the Lions Bay area. The 45-year-old was last seen at his residence in Lions Bay, British Columbia a week prior.

"As the investigation continues to unfold, homicide investigators are working to collect and analyze evidence, review CCTV footage and conduct interviews to build a timeline of Mr. McLean's activities prior to May 15, 2026,” IHIT Cpl. Esther Tupper said in a press statement.

“We are pursuing all available leads as we work to find answers for the family, friends and loved ones of Mr. McLean," his statement continued.

McLean's Agency Confirms His Death

In a post on Facebook, McLean's agency, Lucas Talent Inc. confirmed his death.

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved client, Stew McLean. I was fortunate to have worked with Stew for more than 10 years," a statement read.

"He was always such a pleasure to deal with - dedicated, professional, eager, and endlessly funny! Many casting directors have reached out to share their condolences with Stew’s family and with our agency, and every message says the same thing: what a truly great guy he was, and how deeply he will be missed."

McLean's acting credits include Virgin River, The 100 and Supernatural.

Long before the album's release, the Sex Pistols had become extremely controversial figures in the press due to their loud, brash, carefree attitude and politically charged music. They were the epitome of '70s punk: looking to make as much mess as possible and unafraid of who they'd disturb in the process.

The group had already been fired by two record labels, banned from certain venues in the United Kingdom, and made headlines for swearing on live television before their album was released. They were considered impossible to work with—but of course, that just made their fans love them even more.

By 1977, Virgin Records agreed to release their album, despite many record shops refusing to stock it due to their offence at the profanity in the title. Some record charts even refused to recognize it, holding just a blank space where the Sex Pistols should have been named.

Even when they'd finally found a record label daring enough to release their album, the Sex Pistols struggled to keep themselves together long enough to record it. The band went through several different lineups during the recording sessions, with original bassist Glen Matlock leaving the band halfway through.

He was replaced by Sid Vicious, but the band quickly became unhappy with Vicious' bass playing and decided to have lead guitarist Steve Jones play the instrument instead. This means three different bass players are featured on the record—a testament to just how unstable and unpredictable the Sex Pistols were.

Despite getting banned from certain stores and barely appearing on the chart listings, the Sex Pistols' debut album was a massive commercial success. It sold over 125,000 copies in its first week of release and debuted at No. 1 in the United Kingdom. It stayed on the charts for almost a year, essentially launching the punk rock movement that would become so prevalent over the next few years. The album was recently ranked No. 7 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Punk Albums of All Time.

These movies, unofficially dubbed "The Karate Kid Collection", include the original trilogy and the 2010 Hollywood remake. Notably, the 1994 sequel, The Next Karate Kid, will not be included.

The Karate Kid is often cited as one of the first major Hollywood breakthroughs in the martial arts genre, offering a charming story that audiences could easily relate to, while also including some genre-bending action sequences that drew inspiration from Chinese hits like Enter the Dragon.

The movies were massively successful both among critics and general audiences. The first installment currently has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 81%, with a critics' consensus that reads: "Utterly predictable and wholly of its time, but warm, sincere, and difficult to resist, due in large part to Pat Morita and Ralph Macchio's relaxed chemistry."

Unfortunately, the rest of the original trilogy didn't quite live up to the sky-high expectations set by the original movie. Both The Karate Kid: Part II and The Karate Kid: Part III were pretty big disappointments; neither movie built upon the action filmmaking or rich character dynamics of the first, which are crucial ingredients in any sequel.

While most audiences can agree that The Karate Kid is a great movie, and most audiences can agree that its first two sequels are not, the 2010 remake is somewhat of an outlier. It definitely has its fans, but there's also a vocal audience who simply don't like the new direction it took with this classic story.

That being said, the reboot was still a massive commercial success. The film pulled in an incredible $359 million worldwide against a reported budget of $40 million, turning over a huge profit and proving that audiences still have an appetite for this franchise—and martial arts movies in general. Although last year's Karate Kid Legends didn't quite replicate that box office dominance, it was still a financial success. The movie capitalized on the popularity of Cobra Kai, Netflix's original series based on the Karate Kid franchise, which aired from 2018 to 2025.

The Karate Kid Collection will join Karate Kid Legends on Netflix on June 1 in the United States. Those who can't wait until next month can also purchase or rent the entire franchise through any major VOD platform, such as Apple TV or Amazon Prime.
