For Walking Among Giants
Arches National Park, UT
Go to a National Park out west and you’re bound to experience stunning, stark rock formations and vibrant color palettes. But none compare to the sheer otherworldly landscape of Arches, home to more than 2,000 natural arches carved from the bones of the earth and scores of precariously balanced boulders. It’s stunning and unique, and with the sole Devils Garden campground allotting just 50 spots – compared with a thousand or two at some other national parks – it’s a far more intimate experience than you could ever hope to expect at such a vast location (though there are plenty of campgrounds outside the park). Just be sure to book far in advance, as most sites fill up far in advance.
