Fishing: Christmas Island
This tiny speck of an island is located in the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean, closer to Indonesia than Australia, which it is part of. It’s a secluded coral atoll filled with miles of brilliant white saltwater flats — and loaded with bonefish begging to be caught.
Over 63 percent of the island is an Australian National Park, with a large monsoonal forest, and ample hiking, but the best activity here is with a pole. Christmas Islands Outfitters will set you up with all of the equipment needed and valuable beta about where to find the fish.Back to top
