Bedard grew up in a family of endurance athletes and has never known any other lifestyle. In 2010, he represented Canada at the Vancouver Olympics, skiing and shooting in the biathlon relay. In 2011, he entered his first Spartan Beast on Killington and won.
Strengths: Bedard is no stranger to Killington and has the cardio fitness to face the steep incline undaunted and at the front of the pack.
Weaknesses: Bedard tore a ligament in his right ankle while racing two years ago and has been cautious with it since. He may hold back on more technical sections and lose time going downhill.
Why He’ll Win: “I won my first race against all odds in 2011 and came back only this year on the circuit to test myself. It’s been quite a ride, now I can’t wait to get on this beautiful mountain and get my best against the best.”Back to top
