30 Lakes in 30 Days | Lake Jocassee | South Carolina

South Carolina, not only the home of the Carolina Cup but also Lake Jocassee. It’s one of the largest lakes in South Carolina, but one of the most modest. Hidden between mountain ranges the water is the perfect cooling off temperature and beautifully crystal clear. Because of its location, the wildlife and exploration opportunities are unimaginable. All level paddling trails lead right to some of the best hidden waterfalls, watering holes and secluded beaches found on the southeastern end. The surrounding 75 miles of shoreline has very little development and some parts are even untouched by man, so when traveling by foot, you may come across even more secretive gems then by SUP.
Back on the water, due to the depth of Lake Jocassee, you’ll find some awesome scuba diving spots. See the Jocassee Dive Shop to get hooked up! Devils Fork State Park is the spot to arrange your stay. It offers villas and tent sites along the water, hidden in the trees or amongst other vacationers. Also near by is the Victoria Valley Vineyards to get your wine on, or just a hop away is the locally famous Aunt Sue’s Restaurant.
