Ride Your Bike
Transportation is the number-one source of carbon emissions in the United States. The average American spends 27 minutes commuting each day—that’s somewhere in the ballpark of 15-20 miles per day.
According to the Center for Energy and Climate Solutions, burning one gallon of gasoline creates 20 pounds of carbon dioxide, equating to approximately 6-9 tons of CO2 each year for the average vehicle. Riding your bike not only will you get in a good workout, but you’ll cut down on your CO2 emissions, as well. If a traditional bike poses too great a challenge, consider an e-bike.
