Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco
The iconic Golden Gate Bridge spans the entire “Golden Gate,” which is a one-mile-wide strait that connects the San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Ocean. Linking San Francisco to Marin County, this suspension bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of California. When it was first completed in 1937, it was both the longest and the tallest suspension bridge in the world—with a main span of 4,200 feet and a height of 746 feet. A walking trip across this famous structure is a wonderful way to spend the day.
