Epic Kayaks announces key management changes

Charleston, S.C., May 11, 2015Epic Kayaks Inc. global leaders in racing and touring surfskis and sea kayaks, today announced that Oscar Chalupsky, one of its founders and shareholders, had unexpectedly resigned and left the company, effective immediately.

Co-Founder Greg Barton, and Chairman Charles Brand, will continue to lead the company’s dominance of the categories it specializes in, namely sea kayaks and ocean racing surfskis. In addition, Epic is very pleased to announce the appointment of Ken Barker, as a Strategic Advisor to the company as it embarks on its global brand, product and sales expansion. Barker is the former CEO of Crailar Technologies Inc., and was a senior executive with the adidas Group AG, prior to that. Besides extensive brand and corporate experience, Barker is a veteran of the South African Surf Lifesaving and ultra distance kayaking fraternity.
