It’s difficult to explain what, exactly, is so satisfying about surfing. That’s because the act of riding waves is a tapestry of moments, woven together into what we think is one of the most pleasurable activities known to humans (we’re not biased at all). When one of those instants is caught on camera, as illustrated by Ian Vaz pushing water out the back of a Brazilian beachbreak, we have only one thought: get us out there.
