If You Have One Day, What’s Your Adventure? Mike Libecki in Utah

On Friday, October 14, we will remind all of you of your God-given right to ditch out of work to raft, hike, learn how to surf, or take a motorcycle tour — basically to do any fun outdoors thing you've been putting off. National Day of Adventure is a skip day for adults where we encourage you to take a single-day adventure that will turn your sick day into a sick! day.

Here, we asked mountaineer and one of Men's Journal's 50 Most Adventurous Men, Mike Libecki, what adventure he'd take on if he had one day to do it. Here's what he said.

"My one-day adventure is pretty simple. It would be here locally in the wild nature of Utah. My daughter is now traveling around the world on big expeditions with me at 13 years old, but I think we would do one of our favorite things. We’d start off the day with a sunrise and take a beautiful hike with our dogs. Then we come back and make breakfast — with fresh eggs from our chickens. We head up skiing into the Wasatch Mountains, which has some of the best skiing in the world. Then we shift gears, come back down and do some SUP right near the mouth of the canyon. We would end this day with a beautiful sunset, and we’d sit there and watch the sun go down and just think about life. Think about this beautiful, magical, powerful, amazing life that we have. And I can’t tell you, there’s nothing like having a full day adventure with my daughter, and my animals. Life is Sweet, death and old age is coming, and you know what? We gotta ask that question. Why ration passion? There are no excuses that we’ve gotta live a sweet life."
