Explore San Diego’s La Jolla Sea Caves
The La Jolla Ecological Reserve in San Diego is home to a collection of popular sea caves and five distinct marine environments — all in less than two square miles. Rent a single or double kayak from Everyday California to dart around the seven caves (all of which are located along the sandstone cliffs between La Jolla Shores and La Jolla Cove). Then, check out the reserve's giant kelp forest, where you should keep an eye out for leopard sharks in the summer months and migrating gray whales over the winter.
Distance from La Jolla Shores to REI: 7 miles.
Distance to La Jolla Brewing Company: 2 miles.
What you should order there: Sunny Jim's IPA, named after the sea cave used to smuggle alcohol during prohibition.
