Quickblade Announces New Smart Paddle

In an industry first, manufacturer Quickblade Paddles announced the release of their new Smart Paddle, which has technology to measure how fast you’re going, distance per stroke, how many paddles strokes you take on each side and more.

The mind behind Quickblade, Jimmy Terrell, partnered with Motionize to create this new device that gives real-time info to your phone as you’re paddling, which means you can mount your phone on your board and see just what’s happening as your training.

“It’s like having an on-board coach,” says Terrell.

Once you’re done with your workout, you can take off the paddle handle (the Smart Paddles are adjustables), plug it in via USB and download your info to share with friends or your coach.

In addition, the paddle also tells you your paddle angle on your catch and is heart rate compatible. And it’s only $30 more than their standard paddle (there will be $299, $349 and $399 models).

The paddles are not available yet but will be hitting the market soon with select Quickblade dealers.

More Quickblade.
