There’s fast—and then there’s fast.
Kyle Wester definitely achieved the latter last week, as the skateboarder set the new world record for the fastest downhill speed. Decked out in a specialized suit and road-ready wheels, Wester zipped down the hill at 89.41 mph to smash the previous mark.

The previous official Guinness record was set by Mischo Erban of Canada with an 80.74 mph run in 2012, while the unofficial record of 81.17 mph was set by Erik Lundberg of Sweden in 2016.
Wester set out to break both records—and he did it with plenty of speed to spare.
