Last month, ski legend Candide Thovex shredded dry-mountain pastures in a clip that was ultimately revealed to be an Audi commercial. This video, from Loyola Marymount film student Michael Hibbs, takes an equally impressive shot at dry-land skiing, but for the sake of climate change awareness. Hibbs, who’s in his senior year at the Los Angeles film school, starred in his film, flying down staircases, sliding down rails, and flipping off dirt lips — showing what winters of the future could look like. Hibbs, who also goes by “The Kook,” cut together the two-minute clip for Network A‘s annual video contest and uses footage from his 11-minute short “The Last American Ski Bum.”
