Road 42 from Donghae to Sasa Dong, Korea
Compared with the rustic roads he encountered in other parts of Asia, Pedraita says that Korea was as developed as the U.S. The massive highways there, though, forbid motorcycles, and so his 400 mile ride to Seoul was completely on side roads, which proved to offer some of the best riding. “It’s really fun driving, with high 1,500 foot high hills up and down the entire way, and with lots of curves,” he says. “The road runs down the coast and was just beautiful with palm trees along the way.” The only downside to the tropical views were the tropical rains, coupled with bald tires: “They were basically slicks and it rained a lot, so it was slippery.”
