The M58 Through Siberia, Russia
One of Pedraita’s most notable distance runs was driving 5600 miles across the desolate expanse of Siberia — in winter. “It’s freezing, minus 24 degrees ,and completely dark, with no civilization or lights at night,” he says. If that doesn’t sound tempting, consider a run in the summer months, when you’ll experience some of the purest views of the night sky available anywhere on earth. There’s also plenty of wildlife, though Pedraita says he’s had his fill after being tracked for more than 30 miles by a trio of wolves.
