Eiseman Hut, Summit County, CO
Seemingly just across the valley from Vail Ski Resort, the backcountry Eiseman Hut actually requires an all-day, 7-mile, 3,000-foot skin to reach it. As the crown jewel of Colorado’s famed 10th Mountain Division huts, the Eiseman is by far the most difficult to reach but also the most beautiful. Its wrap-around deck is the perfect spot for downing one of the precious few cans of beer you carry in. And like all 30 of Colorado’s 10th Mountain Division huts, the Eiseman is outfitted with a huge kitchen, wood burning stoves, and cushy beds.
