The 6 Greatest Football Catches Caught on Film

With a one-handed, backflip catch, 16-year-old Marco Wilson put some of the greatest catches of all time to shame — even if there was no double coverage and championship on the line.

The American Heritage High School cornerback posted his incredible catch for the world to witness on Vine this week and it quickly went viral. It's not a shock that Wilson, who still has two years until graduation, currently has 11 colleges vying to have him on their roster in 2017, according to Bleacher Report. His brother, Quincy Wilson, currently plays cornerback at the University of Florida, so if family tradition has anything to do with it, the Gators might be the lucky team.

But there has been no shortage of phenomenal pigskin catches made over the years. Here are a few of our NFL and NCAA favorites.

Odell Beckham Jr.
Don't ever be surprised to see this one on a "Greatest Catches of All-Time" list. The super-stretch, one-handed backbend catch, made against the Dallas Cowboys in 2014, secured the NY Giants wide receiver a place in football lore.

Jordan Westerkamp
The Nebraska wide receiver made one of last year's most impressive catches during college football's opening weekend with a behind-the-back catch made against Florida Atlantic.

Lynn Swann
The Pittsburgh Steeler became the first ever receiver to be named Super Bowl MVP after his acrobatic 53-yard snag with Cowboys defender hanging off of him earned the Steelers a 21-17 Super Bowl X win.

Hakeem Nicks
The New York Giant made his most impressive reception during his days as a University of North Carolina Tar Heel with this behind-the-back, between-the-legs catch against West Virginia in 2008.

Franco Harris
And of course, there's the famous play between Terry Bradshaw, John Fuqua, and Franco Harris. We would be doing NFL history a disservice not to include "The Immaculate Reception," where Steelers running back Harris hooked a ricocheted pass off the shoelaces of Fuqua, the intended receiver, and ran it 60 yards for a 13-7 AFC Division Playoff win against the Raiders in 1972.
