The Bill Murray Marathon Training Plan

Bill Murray launched his training for the New York Marathon on Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday night. Though the 26.2-mile race is a mere 18 days away, Murray appeared undaunted, running out of the studio for a quick jog.

The comedian showed off a few unusual training methods. For aching knees, he rubbed Ben Gay on the back of his hands. “This guy told me that it’s all connected,” he explained to Letterman.

Striding down Manhattan’s 53rd Street in his tux, Murray also began his refueling regimen immediately, nabbing a water bottle and soft pretzel from onlookers. He then finished the run with a cool-down ride in the back of a pedicab to resume his interview.

Murray’s marathon strategy, however, might be best reserved for, well, Bill Murray. And though we’d love to take the actor at his word, we suspect he may not actually be lining up at Staten Island start November 2.
